Job Description:

As a Senior Voice Engineer at CIS, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the voice infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our cloud-based PBX, UCaaS, and CCaaS services. You will be the primary point of contact for all VoIP-related troubleshooting and play a pivotal role in designing call flows and providing expert technical support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Call Flow Design: Collaborate with clients to design and implement effective call flows on our PBX system, ensuring seamless call routing and integration with UCaaS and CCaaS services.
  • Cisco Hardware and Software: Demonstrate expertise in Cisco hardware and software, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. Possess a CCNP certification or higher.
  • VoIP Troubleshooting: Be the main point of contact for troubleshooting VoIP-related issues, both internally and with our clients, and work to resolve problems promptly to minimize service disruptions.
  • SIP and RTP: Possess in-depth knowledge of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol), and be able to diagnose and resolve issues related to these protocols.
  • Network Protocols: Have a strong understanding of networking concepts, including familiarity with the OSI model, to effectively manage network-related aspects of VoIP services.
  • Emergency Services (E911): Configure and test IP phones to ensure the proper functioning of emergency services, making test calls to 911 to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor voice service quality, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of voice infrastructure, configurations, and best practices for reference and future planning.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, support, and sales, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Cisco CCNP certification or higher is required.
  • Proven experience in VoIP, UCaaS, and CCaaS, with a focus on call flow design.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware and software.
  • Proficiency in SIP and RTP protocols.
  • Familiarity with the OSI model and network protocols.
  • Experience with E911 configuration and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and dedicated to staying current with industry trends and best practices.
